•   ELS has opened insolvency proceedings

  •   Cessation of business operations as of 01.06.2018

  •   We recommend former ELS customers to license their packaging from another dual system by the end of June in order to comply with their legal requirements

Declaration of management and insolvancy administrator:

ELS has opened insolvency proceedings: status

Thanks to our customers, partners and employees

On June 1, 2018, the insolvency proceedings for ELS Europäische LizenzierungsSysteme GmbH were opened by the Bonn District Court because the efforts to find an investor failed. Accordingly, ELS discontinued its system operation with effect from June 1, and its existing customers have had to license their license quantities elsewhere since June 1. We recommend that customers conclude contracts with other dual systems in a timely manner so that the legally required participation obligation in a dual system is fulfilled.

The privately organized collection and recycling of sales packaging remains guaranteed as ELS has concluded an agreement with the other nine dual systems under which the remaining system partners will from now on assume the costs for collection, sorting and recycling as well as for the municipal fees that are attributable to ELS. Accordingly, the system operators will announce new market shares for the new volume allocation without ELS.

"We deeply regret this development of the ELS", say management and insolvency administrator. "Until the end, all those involved, employees and consultants fought with all their might for the continued existence of the system. Our thanks go to our customers, partners and employees who have worked until the end to keep ELS alive. We are now doing everything we can to manage the ELS dual system in an orderly manner and to terminate employment relationships as socially compatible as possible.”
