The ASCON companies, which have been active for around fifteen years, have achieved strategic milestones. ASCON Resource Management Holding GmbH (a.k.a. "ASCON Holding") was founded in September 2014. All subsidiaries have now been consolidated under its umbrella: ELS Europäische LizenzierungsSysteme GmbH, ASCON Gesellschaft für Abfall und Sekundärrohstoff Consulting mbH, SORTcycle Sekundärrohstoffinvestment Altkunststoff I, EUPVcycle and the Informationszentrum Umwelt, Abfall und Recycling information and training centre.
ASCON Holding is a group of circular economy companies that has found the perfect balance between financially viable and ecological environmental and waste management. Packaging licensing via its own dual system, a strategic and sustainable material flow management, the production, refinement and trade with valuable secondary raw materials and innovative, sustainable investment products are just some of the holding company's business activities, which it pursues nationally as well as internationally.
With the assistance of Munich-based financial consultancy firm sarbery.capital – assertive financial partners (www.sarbery.com), ASCON Holding successfully won Mountain Cleantech AG and its Fund II as a strategic investor in March 2015; one of the main investors in this financial investment instrument is IKEA GreenTech AB. Mountain Cleantech is a venture capital company that focuses on growing medium-sized enterprises with sustainable business models, particularly in the German-speaking and Nordic countries. By way of an equity increase, Mountain Cleantech Fund II has become a minority shareholder in ASCON Holding.
We are delighted to have won a partner that is as strong and competent as Mountain Cleantech and also as growth-focused as we are," says ASCON Holding Managing Director Sascha Schuh. "On the basis of this cooperation between our companies, we will continue to expand our market position in Germany. In addition, we are also jointly relying more strongly on strategies that focus on the development of new business areas all over the world. The own equity increase, our extensive expertise and our professional team make ASCON Resource Management Holding a business that is now even more competitive."
Alexander von Hutten – a former RWE Group manager and now one of Mountain Cleantech AG's managing partners – explains: "The idea of combining the positive image of the experienced ASCON management team and of the current and future market stakeholders with our existing industry expertise and network of contacts in this industry soon made us realise that we would definitely like to invest in ASCON Holding as its growth partner. We are impressed by the way the group of companies has developed so far, and believe that we will be able to give ASCON Holding's huge potential for growth yet another boost as the management team's future active sparring partner."
